Bear 100 Snow Route

Taking advantage of cool temperatures and fall colors poses a certain set of risks, including: snowstorms!  While big storms are very unlikely during the Bear, in 2006 we had a big set of storms that prevented access to important aid stations and made treacherous the highest portions of the course.  In the event of a snowstorm severe enough to warrant a change, an alternate course, depicted in the maps below, is used (thumbnails).

100K overview maps

The 100K maps should give enough detail for crews to access the aid stations.

Please note that the maps trace in-and-outs between Albert Moser Campground and Maple Canyon, German Dugway and Paris Ice Caves, and Danish Flat and Copenhagen Road.
